Estamos, mais ou menos, a meio de maio e faltam apenas cerca de 20 dias para eu chegar ao Jap\u00e3o. Ent\u00e3o, o tempo est\u00e1 a passar muito r\u00e1pido e eu vou sair da minha ilha no dia 1 de junho e, se Deus permitir e tudo correr bem, chego ao Jap\u00e3o, \u00e0 minha nova cidade, Yokohama, no dia 3 de junho.<\/p>\n<p>Nos A\u00e7ores, a primavera j\u00e1 esteve aqui e j\u00e1 se foi embora e trouxe-nos de volta o inverno.<\/p>\n<p>Tenho tido duas a tr\u00eas aulas de japon\u00eas por semana, para avan\u00e7ar na aprendizagem nesta fase final.<\/p>\n<p>E neste ponto eu quero pedir as vossas ora\u00e7\u00f5es para esta viagem longa que me espera e para o per\u00edodo de adapta\u00e7\u00e3o l\u00e1. Eu vou regressar com mais novidades, mas dependo das vossas ora\u00e7\u00f5es nesta etapa. Mas quero ainda mais do que pedir as vossas ora\u00e7\u00f5es, quero agradecer as ora\u00e7\u00f5es que t\u00eam feito at\u00e9 aqui e a vossa parceria e o vosso apoio em amizade, em ora\u00e7\u00e3o e especialmente no sustento financeiro, porque s\u00f3 gra\u00e7as a voc\u00eas e s\u00f3 porque vou convosco desta forma \u00e9 que eu, de facto, posso ir. E s\u00f3 gra\u00e7as ao vosso sustento financeiro que j\u00e1 come\u00e7ou h\u00e1 alguns meses, \u00e9 que podemos ir agora e que j\u00e1 podemos nos \u00faltimos nas \u00faltimas semanas comprar a passagem, assegurar uma habita\u00e7\u00e3o, para eu ter quando chegar l\u00e1 conseguir o meu visto. Ent\u00e3o, todas estas coisas foram asseguradas apenas pelo sustente financeiro. E gra\u00e7as a Deus, a este ponto, j\u00e1 conseguimos angariar o suficiente para garantir o sucesso e a longevidade, a sustentabilidade da miss\u00e3o durante o primeiro ano. E gl\u00f3ria a Deus porque esses fundos j\u00e1 est\u00e3o angariados.<\/p>\n<p>O que falta \u00e9 garantir o sustento para o segundo e o terceiro ano e continuando para al\u00e9m disso, se Deus assim permitir. Mas, para o segundo e para o terceiro ano, ainda faltam cerca de 750 \u20ac por m\u00eas para o total que garante a sustentabilidade da miss\u00e3o. Ent\u00e3o, conto com as vossas ora\u00e7\u00f5es e com a vossa parceria tamb\u00e9m a n\u00edvel de sustento financeiro, se voc\u00eas se sentirem chamados para isso. Ao chegar ao Jap\u00e3o, a minha primeira prioridade vai ser instalar-me na minha nova casa, vai ser participar de uma confer\u00eancia com todos os mission\u00e1rios da IMB no Jap\u00e3o, onde eu vou conhec\u00ea-los, e vou saber o que \u00e9 que eles t\u00eam feito e como \u00e9 que tem corrido o seu minist\u00e9rio no Jap\u00e3o. Ent\u00e3o, orem por isso. E a minha primeira prioridade a m\u00e9dio prazo vai ser a aprendizagem do idioma e tornar-me fluente no japon\u00eas para poder partilhar o Evangelho com os japoneses. It&#8217;s mid May and I&#8217;m about 20 days away from arriving in Japan. Can you imagine that? So, if everything goes well, I&#8217;ll be leaving my island on the 1st of June and Lord willing, arriving in Japan in my new city on the 3rd of June.<\/p>\n<p>In the Azores, Spring was here, left already, and brought us back to Winter.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been having two to three weekly Japanese lessons to try and push forward a little bit on these final stages before going. In this stage, the main thing that I want to ask of you is to continue praying for me, please. Because in this stage it&#8217;s going to be essential that you are praying for my health and for my endurance and safety and protection in these long travels that await me and as well in the adaptation to the new place.<\/p>\n<p>Having that said, I want to thank you. I want to thank you for having prayed for me thus far and for having already committed to this partnership and I&#8217;m so privileged to be your partner in mission and actually it&#8217;s the only reason why I can go right now. Not only because of your prayers and your friendship and your support in all those ways and more, but especially in this stage because of your support financially. I can only go because we have already a few people who have already started donating and we have already been able to save up some enough so that I was able to in the past weeks buy my ticket, get my visa and secure a place to live in Yokohama so that I can be moved there as soon as I arrive on the field.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to your support, we&#8217;ve already raised enough to make sure that the first year of mission is taken care of and it&#8217;s sustainable and praise the Lord for that. Thank you so much for your generosity. It means the longevity of this mission. And the only thing that we still have to fund raise is around \u20ac750 per month for the second and third year and beyond, if the Lord shows us that the mission should be longer. But we have open hands at this point.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t know the full extent of this mission. But at least for the first three years, we are still working towards that fundraising goal. And so if you feel called to contribute in that way, thank you so much for listening to that call and joining in partnership. As soon as I arrive in Japan, my first priority will be to get settled, get used to the new place to live and then I will participate in a Japan cluster meeting. So every IMB missionary in Japan is gathering for a conference where I will get to meet them and I&#8217;ll get to hear about their work and know how their ministry is doing in Japan. So that that&#8217;s going to be super valuable.<\/p>\n<p>And then midterm my main purpose and goal in the first year of mission is to get as fluent as I can in Japanese. So please be praying for that. So, I have relied on you up until this moment and I will continue to do so. And thank you so much for your friendship, for your support in every way.
